We arrived on a miserable wet Friday to a very warm welcome and a nice cold beer. This set the scene for our 4 days in the company of Bill, Carol and Debbs. We will without doubt be back in 2012. (mines a cold one ) Wednesday 30 November2011 - Friday 12th August - Essex

Just returned from a fabulous few days with Bill and Carol. Never met anyone quite like Bill - unique, but great character. Carol's cooking is excellent, room lovely, a great base to tour that part of France from. Met some great people, too, all very friendly. Thanks once again. Will return. We have just returned form a week with Bill and Carol. What a week we have had. Our stay was unexpectedly extended from 3 to 6 days and Bill and Carol sorted us out no problem. The house is fabulous but it would be nothing without the stars of the show, Bill and Carol. Great sense of humour (if you don't like verbal abuse then stay at home ) and fantastic cooking from Carol (and so-so breakfasts prepare by Bill - just kidding, boiled eggs to die for ). The location is perfect for exploring either WWII history or local towns and villages, take your pick. We were really disappointed to leave but we will definatley be returning next year, hopefully with some pals. See you soon guys. Saturday 3 September2011 - Derbyshire

Ik ben samen met mijn zwager bij Bill & Carol geweest. We zijn op donderdag 11-08-2011 aangekomen. Bill liet ons gelijk in de schuur parkeren en had al een biertje voor ons klaar staan! (we hadden de helm nog op ). Deze mensen weten waar je aan toe bent als je er een flinke rit op heb zitten. Eerst even ontspannen met een drankje en wat kletspraat en dan pas je kamer bekijken. We hadden een kleine kamer met douche en toilet. Zoals ik al zei was de kamer klein, maar het voldeed prima! Veel heb je niet nodig als je de rest van Bill & Carol's optrekje ontdekt. Prachtige garage's om de motor te parkeren, prachtige overkapping met een bar, tafelvoetbal, pooltafel, pingpong en een hoekje om wat bladen te lezen. (over motoren natuurlijk! ) Verder is er nog een zonneweide met een volleybalveld en een zwembad. Voor een beetje extra kan je meegenieten van de kookkunsten van Carol. (echt een aanrader) Heerlijk gegeten ook het ontbijt! Wat hierbij leuk is, is dat je met al de gasten aan tafel zit. Genoeg gezelligheid dus! Bill is een gezellige vent die altijd een grapje klaar heeft en mooie verhalen kan vertellen! Alles bij elkaar. Bill showed us right into the parking barn and had a beer before we are ready! (We had the helmet still on ). These people know where you stand when you've been on a long drive. First we relax with a drink and some chatter, and then check your room. We had a small room with shower and toilet. As I said the room was small, but it did great! You do not need much when the rest of Bill & Carol's retreat discovered. Magnificent garage's to the motor park, beautiful roof with a bar, table football, pool table, ping pong and a corner to get some magazines to read. (On bikes of course! ) There is also a sunbathing area with a volleyball court and a pool. For a little extra you can enjoy the culinary arts of Carol. (Highly recommended) Great food for breakfast too! What fun this is that with all the guests at the table. Enough so fun! Bill is a nice guy who always has a joke ready and good stories to tell! Our second stay at La Motte this time with two friends. From start to finish (4 days) we were made more than welcome by Bill & Carol. Food, great along with Bills generous wine pouring !!
